Mission Statement

To continually strive to be a church community that fosters Christian fellowship with people of all races and backgrounds.

Vision Statement

To evangelize both locally and abroad, thereby inviting the world to enter into the same joy of fellowship in Christ as we enjoy.

What We Believe

  • GOD
We believe in one God who is eternally existent in three Persons (the Holy Trinity): God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The Three are One and share the same divine nature/substance (John 10:30; John 15:26)

  • GOD THE FATHER
He is the Creator (Gen. 1:1). He begat the Son (John 3:16). This is an eternal act of the Father–God from God. The Son always was, just as the Father always was (John 8:58). The Holy Spirit proceeded from the Father (John 15:26). This is an eternal act of the Father–God proceeding from God. The Holy Spirit always was, just as the Father always was (Gen. 1:2).

  • GOD THE SON
He is the Redeemer (John 3:16)
He is the only way to God (John 14:6)
He is fully human (John 1:14)
He is sinless (1 Pet. 2:22)
He died for our sins (1 Cor. 15:3)
He was raised from the dead (1 Cor. 15:4)
He is at the right hand of the Father, interceding for us (Heb. 1:3)
He is coming back for those who accept Him as Lord (1 Thes. 4:13-17)

  • GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT
He guides the believer into all truth (John 16:13)
He inspired the writers of Scripture (2 Pet 1:20-21)
He convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:7-11)
He indwells the believer, empowers the believer for service, and enables the believer to speak with new tongues (Acts 2:1-4)

  • THE HOLY SCRIPTURES
Scripture is the inspired word of God (2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:20-21)
Nothing can be added to, or subtracted from Scripture (Rev. 22:18-19)
Scripture is the standard/measure by which we are to live to please God (Ps. 119:9; 2 Tim. 3:15)
Scripture gives us assurance of the hope of eternal life (John 5:39; Rom. 15:4)

  • HUMANKIND
Humans were created in the image of God (Gen. 1:26)
When the first man sinned, man’s fellowship with God was broken (Gen. 3:8)
From that moment on, God made provisions to renew that fellowship (Gen. 3:21)
Ultimate provisions for the renewal of that fellowship were fulfilled in Jesus Christ (Ps. 40:6-8; Heb. 10:1-10)

  • SACRAMENTS
The Lord's Supper (Matthew 26:26-29): This is an act of obedience to the Lord’s command to commemorate His sacrificial death. The bread represents His broken body while the fruit of the vine represents His shed blood. We are commanded by the Lord to perform this ceremonial act until He returns, at which time He promised to do it anew with us in glory. Agape partakes in Holy Communion on the first Sunday of every month.

Water Baptism (Matt 28:19; Rom 6:3-4): This is an act of obedience to the Lord’s command. It is an act of declaration, signifying one’s belief and trust in Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection for salvation. Baptism alone does not save, but a confession to the Lordship of Christ is first required.

Roles Of The Pastor and Members

The Pastor is the leader/shepherd of the flock but not its lord (1 Pet. 5:2-3). As the leader, the pastor is expected by God to lead and to feed the flock (Jer. 23:1-4). The pastor plays a vital role in the edification and equipping of the flock for service to the Great Shepherd, the Lord Jesus Christ (Eph. 4:11-14).

Each member is expected by God to follow the pastor as his/her spiritual leader in support of the vision for the ministry (1 Pet. 5:3) as long as the pastor follows Christ (1 Cor. 11:1). Each member is also expected to seek the Lord to know his/her gifting and to be good stewards of every gift in the work of the ministry (1Cor. 4:2; 1 Cor. 12).
